I so enjoyed meeting and spending time with the Dempsey family, while capturing the first days of sweet Ruby. I had no idea what I was in store for when I first walked in to their home. I was completely blown away! Chris & Heather have an absolutely, astonishing home. They have a home built with the bones of an 1855 mid-Victorian home owned by Confederate Colonel Samuel H. Lockett. Their floors, doorways, trim, baseboards, staircase, mantles, and hardware are all from this home. Oh my, this house. On top of this, they are civil war re-enactment enthusiasts, hosting their own re-enactment at their beautiful home AND Chris is part of six-piece string band, named Un-Reconstructed, specializing in performing and arranging music from the War Between the States as well as Irish, Scottish, and other nineteenth century traditional music. If you don't have anything to do on May 3 & 4, you should absolutely check out the Fiddler's Green. They will be hosting their re-enactment complete with artillery, cavalry and infantry. There's even a ball Saturday night!
I hope to attend, and very much hope to be able to spend some time Chris & Heather again! Such a pleasure!
